- Why do I need to change my viewing card?
From time to time we need to replace Sky viewing cards with brand new ones to ensure you receive a secure and up-to-date service. Please insert your new card into your Sky box as soon as it arrives.
- When should I change my viewing card?
Change your viewing card as soon as the new one arrives, as your old card will stop working shortly afterwards.
- How do I remove my old viewing card and insert the replacement?
1. Ensure that your Sky box is switched on, with your old viewing card inserted. Pull out the old viewing card and insert your new one.
2. Wait for 20 seconds.
3. When you see the 'Changeover complete' message, press 'Back up' on your remote control. To see a demo go to Channel 998 on your TV and press the red button. - Where do I put my new viewing card?
Your replacement viewing card should go into the slot your old card has been taken out of. Some boxes have a cover flap over their card slot which means that the slot isn't instantly visible. Gently open the flap to find the slot, and replace the flap after you've inserted your new viewing card, to protect it.
- There's more than one slot on my Sky box - which one should the viewing card go into?
Your replacement viewing card should go into the slot your old one has been taken out of.
- Which way does my viewing card go into the slot on my Sky box?
Follow the arrow on the top side of the card. The gold chip should face downwards and be inserted first.
- Should I leave the mains switched on or off when swapping my viewing card?
Leave your Sky box connected to the mains and turned on while you change the cards. If you’ve already changed them with the box off, return your old card to the box and do the changeover again, with your Sky box on.
- Will I receive a new card for each box?
If you have more than one Sky box, you may not receive all your cards at the same time. Don't worry though - all the replacement cards you require will be sent to you before your old cards expire. You should change each card as soon as the replacement arrives.
- Will I receive a new card
No. Freeview card are not replaced.
- I have Freeview, but still get the message "insert card" on channel Five
You recieve this message because you have still an old sky card in your digibox. take out the card and add channel five to the "other channel list"
- Press "services" on the sky remote control
- Press nr 4 "system set up"
- Press nr 4 "add channels" and there you have to insert the details from the channel:
- Frequency: 10.773
- Polarisation: H *
- Symbol Rate: 22.0 *
- FEC: 5/6 *
- * This items you change with the left and right arrows
- Go to "Find Channel" and press select
- You will now have a list of the channels available on that frequency, scroll to "Five"
- Press the yellow button to store
- Press "select" to finish.
- "Back up" to get back to the normal screen.
To view the channel:
- press "services" on that menu
- press 7 "other channels"
- select Channel Five to view the channel.
- Ik heb de smartcard en satellietontvanger langere tijd niet gebruikt?
Het is in dit geval zeer waarschijnlijk dat u het maandelijkse activatiesignaal dat via de satelliet naar uw smartcard wordt verstuurd, heeft gemist. Het activatiesignaal wordt iedere maand opnieuw verzonden om uw smartcard te voorzien van de nieuwste coderingssleutel voor de radio- en tv-signalen. U kunt makkelijk uw smartcard opnieuw activeren per telefoon of via internet.
- Ik ontvang slechts enkele zenders.
Ontvangt u wel BVN, maar niet de gecodeerde Nederlandse zenders (bijvoorbeeld Nederland 1, RTL4, Eurosport)? Controleer dan eerst de geldigheidsduur van uw smartcard. Bij de meeste satellietontvangers vindt u deze informatie in het menu onder optie 6 "Informatie abonnement en brievenbus". Staat er een datum uit het verleden vermeldt, dan moet u uw smartcard opnieuw activeren.
- Ik zie een rood vierkantje rechtsonder in beeld.
Het rode vierkantje betekent dat de satellietontvanger geen radio- en tv-signalen kan ontvangen via de satelliet. Dit kan onder andere veroorzaakt worden door:
- schotelantenne die niet correct is uitgericht: richt uw schotel beter uit.
- schotel die na hevige rukwinden of storm iets is verdraaid: richt de schotel opnieuw uit.
- slechte hardware-aansluitingen: controleer alle hardware-aansluitingen.
- problemen met de coaxkabel: controleer de kabel op beschadigingen of water in de coaxkabel.
- zeer slechte weersomstandigheden (zware regenbuien of zware wind): het beeld zal zichzelf binnen enkele ogenblikken herstellen.

- My Controller 100 is frozen or unresponsive, is there a reset?
If your Controller 100 becomes unresponsive, press and hold the Mute and Music buttons simultaneously on the Controller for approximately 3 seconds. The Controller will reset itself momentarily. If it fails to reset properly, plug the unit in with a charging cable and try again.
